Shaken..not Stirred

I remember today, once I had gone to watch a movie at PVR Select Citywalk with some friends. We were stopped by the security guard as we had carried our bags (which was not allowed).

We requested, argued, fought with him to let us go, but he just wouldn't let us in, finally our 'I card' helped us out, and we got away, with the bags!!

Maybe the terrorists which bombed Delhi, hit Jaipur, terrorised Mumbai were successful because of people like me/us.

How many times has it happened that we have used our 'VIP' status, our contacts to get away with such things...the security personnel is doing his work...we stop him from doing that, and then in the same breath we mock the security and the law enforcement agency for not doing anything!!

It is said that the police, the government is a reflection of the society they belong to; isn't it right....
Don't they reflect us...our chalta hai attitude....

Time for some questions to be asked...

Why is that India is such an easy target for these attacks?
Why is that after 9/11 the US hasnt seen any other terror attacks, whereas we....lost count of the attacks that have happened this year.

We choose the leaders and then we blame them...when something like the Mumbai massacre happens...we start blaming them, we are ignited, we start thinking to do 'something' for the country.

Well, that too as long as the 'memory' is fresh...

I am sure that all the talks of being together, fighting, doing something will be lost after a few days....maybe as soon as the Indian Cricket team plays it's next match...we will go back to our lives....the same routine of living our lives....earning our livelihood....people like Raj Thackray will come back again in the forefront...

We will once again wait for the next attack to shake us...from our slumber.

I don't want to go on and on, but end it with just one question.

Mumbai has shaken us...but has it stirred us enough...???

bandwidth of thinking is defined by quality of thoughts. Sadly in political arena,we are in deficiency of such engines who can drive the balanced growth. It seems that there are very few people who can think & foresee multi dimensional aspect of country governance.
I dont think I can be called as "groaner" if I say that even after almost 6 decades of independence we still dont have the effective police.
Even after attack on parliament nothing got improved in Intelligence dept;even after so many explosion all over the nation,,i still have to pass through only an unattended metal detector on railway stations & possibly through nothing at bus stations(before 26/11);although IT & software industry in india worth around 60 odd Billion $, we still dont have a centralized information bank of individual civilian & expats;;
Even a passionate armyman/citizen, who is ready to do anything for his nation & people, will not be able to do anything if he's not availed with equally capable paraphernalias as the attackers,,
Why cant the securit level at railway stations be as in airports --needless to say that it'll not cost us fortunes ; even after spending so much on defense the lead time for commandos/army to reach mumbai was hours--a crystal clear earmarking of weak security infrastructure & training.
On the contrary To be honest i think No Govt is capable to deal with such complexities themselves(even US); Entrepreneurship will ahve to play the lead role ; govts do outsource security and Surveillance & use the domestic outsourced intelligence - true example is BlackWater {althoug people can term this as corruption of 21st cent); but again someone has to be bold enough to think about this...
Never ending topic of blame game but this reflects the same attitude of our governing bodies which I and possibly you also possess "Chalta he".
& possibly ill try to change myself

Your article is worth reading, quite stimulating, but dont you think that 1+1=2+2=4.... it goes on. It is when we strt actng on d conscious level of self, then we become aware of the problem outside. its the time to look deep in to understand wide out. I personally believe tht if i see or hav been a part of somthng wrong, I react bcoz tht situation had basically hit ME. but abt othrs we try to connt but jst for smtimes, n then its d rule applied " Out of sight is out of mind".when we will start becomng self consious, then only we can lend our voices n hands to others for support of anythng un ruling. I hope for Peace and my only hope is Peace.
